Neuropsychologists

As many of you know, the treatment of persons who have suffered a traumatic brain, spinal cord and/or orthopedic injury involves a multi-disciplinary approach. We at Toral, Garcia & Franz, Attorneys at Law, firmly believe that it is only through joint cooperation with neuropsychologists and other healthcare professionals that we can effectively represent and assist persons with serious injuries & their families along the continuum of care: from the accident scene to a successful return to home, school or work. Neuropsychologists play an integral role within the treatment team especially when identifying a diagnosis of mild traumatic brain injury. All too often, mild traumatic brain injuries go undiagnosed in favor of more acute and observable orthopedic and neurologic injuries. Many times it is only after the patient has been discharged that family members begin to notice personality, emotional, behavioral and other cognitive changes associated with mild traumatic brain injury. However, despite the obvious altered mental state of their loved one, most family members do not know how or where to find the necessary resources to clinically diagnose and treat their loved one’s brain injury. Our law firm early on gathers information from the trauma team and family members to document the potential existence of traumatic brain injury. Once documented we partner with neuropsychologists all over the state of Florida to conduct independent, objective and necessary neuropsychological evaluations. A neuropsychological evaluation which corroborates a traumatic brain injury, provides the basis for the provisions of educational, rehabilitative and clinical resources for the brain injury survivor. Our law firm facilitates these evaluations by cooperating with neuropsychologists in providing all necessary medical records, family history and transportation when necessary to the appropriate testing facility. Many times, our law firm advances on behalf of the client the cost for comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations. We encourage cooperation with neuropsychologists who are especially important in establishing the foundation for our clients who suffer a traumatic brain injury. We strongly encourage neuropsychologists to partner with us for the mutual goal of recovery of your patients/our clients; by working together with you, we will assist them in reaching optimal recovery, therefore enabling them to live a life filled with meaning, dignity, love and support. |
