A Fort Lauderdale Personal Injury Attorney Who Is Board-Certified In Civil Trial Law

Louis R. Battista was born in Manhattan, New York. He obtained his B.A. from the State University of New York at Oswego in 1989, where he was a standout scholar-athlete, making the President’s List and leading his college baseball team to three conference Championships.

Lou obtained his law degree in 1994 from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center. While at Nova, he was a board member of both the Law Review and Moot Court Society, earned The Florida Bar Trial Lawyer’s Award, and was selected as a National Member of the Order of Barristers. After graduation, Lou worked for over fifteen (15) years at Krupnick Campbell, a prominent personal injury law firm in Fort Lauderdale.  After several years of hard work and outstanding trial results, he became a partner at Krupnick Campbell were he maintained that position for nearly eight (8) years. In 2010, Lou joined the Law Offices of Toral Garcia Battista as a partner of the firm, heading the litigation department.

Lou is board-certified in Civil Trial Law by both The Florida Bar and the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He has consistently been AV rated by the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, which is the highest rating given by this publication.  This peer review rating signifies that a lawyer has reached the pinnacle of professional excellence and is recognized for the highest levels of skill and integrity.  He has also been selected as a member to the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).  This is a national organization that seeks members with the requisite trial experience, high moral character and honorable reputation.  He was also appointed to Florida Trend’s “Florida Legal Elite” in 2011.

Lou has been extensively involved with the legal community.  He is an active member of the state wide trial lawyer’s organization, The Florida Justice Association. Lou has served on the Board of Directors for this Association. He has been honored by The Florida Justice Association receiving the Legislative Leadership Award, Golden Eagle Award and Outstanding Young Lawyer Award for his excellent service to the Association, legal profession, community and legislative efforts to protect Florida’s families.

Over the years, Lou has served on the Board of Directors of various legal organizations, including the Broward County Bar Association, and the American Association for Justice.  He remains active with many of these organizations.  In 2000, he was honored by the Broward County Bar Association; receiving the distinguished Paul May Professionalism Award for exemplifying the ideals of professionalism in the practice of law and for his service to the community.   In 2004, he was honored by Nova Southeastern University Law Center as one of the Top 30 Graduate Success Stories at their 30 year anniversary celebration. Lou is also a member of the Broward, Dade and Palm Beach County Justice Associations, The Florida Bar Trial Lawyers Section, The Florida Bar, The American Bar Association and the National Italian American Bar Association and serves on the Alumni Board of Directors for Nova Southeastern University Law Center.

Additionally, Lou has published numerous legal articles and has lectured at Continuing Legal Education Programs for The Florida Justice Association, The Florida Bar, the Broward County Bar Association, and the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. He is admitted to all Florida State and Federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court.

Lou has been active within the community by coaching football and baseball teams for the Town of Davie and volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club.
